Protecting Students from Online Sextortion - Virtual 10-01-2026

This training is brought to you by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Office of School Safety.

Course Description: Experts from the Department of Justice’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) will brief participants on current online trends adversely impacting youth—including sextortion of children. A link to join will be emailed the day before the event.

Event will include:

· An update on ICAC’s efforts to address these ever-growing online concerns.   

· Actionable recommendations to prevent online harm.

· Guidance on how to respond effectively to youth facing online threats, sextortion, and grooming.

· Information about Speak Up Speak Out and how OSS is partnering with ICAC to keep kids safe in schools and at home.

· Resources to support schools in their safety efforts.

Presenters: Prior to serving as Director of OSS, Trish Kilpin was a school social worker for more than 30 years. She is a certified National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) PREPaRE 1 and 2 Trainer, a Sources of Strength Trainer, a National Threat Evaluation and Reporting Office (NTER) Master Trainer, and an Association for Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) Certified Threat Manager. In law enforcement since 1993, Jesse Crowe has held positions of patrol officer, SRO, Detective, and Detective Sergeant. In 2010 Jesse was hired by the WI Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation as a Special Agent and assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force. Jesse now holds the position of Special Agent in Charge and is the ICAC Commander for the Wisconsin ICAC Task Force and the Commander for the DCI Child Abduction Response Team (CART). He also supervises ICAC Investigations in field offices in Madison, Wausau and Eau Claire.
